Increased meat prices of goats and sheep, hence assured market, ability to produce multiple lambs, ability to reach early age and weight compared to other breeding animals. etc. Due to the factors, well-educated unemployed youth, farmers are attracted to this profession in large numbers. The government, banks, various social development corporations and government departments provide loans and financial assistance under various schemes. While starting a goat and sheep farming, new technologies and technical information related to this farming are available, so that the said farming becomes profitable, various financial institutions make it a condition to submit a “goat-sheep training” certificate while giving loans to this farming. Considering all these aspects and also in terms of skill development, goat and sheep farming training is organized in all the areas of the corporation and at the head office, Gokhalenagar Pune-16 to reach the farmers and encourage them to take up this farming.
